Actions Taken For Unsuccessful Deliveries and Scenarios

There are times when you have followed all the instructions to the letter and ensured that you have written the right area codes, the postage fees are sufficient and the receiver's address is complete and other details but the delivery was not successful. Most of the time, the delivery may fail to be successful due to various factors that are beyond your rightful knowledge. Some of these factors will include:

An absent addressee
This is an incident where the delivery services make the delivery to the particular addressee but the receiver is not there. In other words, in some countries the postman who is making the deliveries will realize the addressee is either not there or missing so he will continue making the deliveries until the receiver gets it. In cases where the receiver's will not get the mail the letter is returned to the sender.

Relocation of the receiver
In such a case it is where the postman makes the deliveries to the person of the particular address then finds the addressee has relocated to another place. In other cases, it could be the postman realizes a change in address of the receiver. If the postman or the post office knows the new address of the receiver then they will rewrite the address on the parcel or letter then send it to the correct receiver or addressee.

In other words, there are cases of unsuccessful deliveries since they are made to persons who seem not to be there or have relocated. The postman or the post office may use the post office locater to trace the missing addressee especially in cases where the relocation was the reason for not delivering the letter or the package. It is also important to note that there are reasons why the addressee was not available for the delivery and at times it us up to the sender to know the receiver's schedule especially in cases where the receiver's occupation involves a lot of traveling which could imply unsuccessful deliveries.
